The Emergency Departments (ED) at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust are seeking experienced Emergency Nurse/Care Practitioners to join our team on a bank basis. As demand in unscheduled/emergency care increases, we aim to expand our team with motivated, expert individuals to manage minor injury and illness patients.
The trust has two EDs: the Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH) in Brighton, a major trauma centre with a dedicated Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), and The Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) in Haywards Heath, a smaller unit with a UTC working within the main ED.
The ENP/ECP is an experienced nurse or paramedic qualified in minor injuries and illnesses, capable of delivering unscheduled care independently within defined guidelines. The role involves maintaining competence and developing practice according to professional standards.
The team is supported by a Lead ENP, Divisional Lead Nurse, Matron, ED Consultants, and GPs, including an educational GP focused on team development.
We welcome applications from those with current UK NMC registration. Internationally qualified nurses requiring sponsorship are not currently eligible.
