Job summary

CYGNET is seeking a Bank Chef at our Newham House facility. You will prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals for residents, catering to special diets while coordinating with nursing staff to meet dietary needs. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure health & safety standards are followed.

The role requires a food hygiene certificate, DBS clearance, and the ability to work flexibly in a bank roster within a supportive care environment. Training and progression opportunities are available.

Qualifications

  • Holder of a food hygiene certificate.
  • Experience in care sector preferred.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook & serve nutritional, balanced meals.
  • Provide special diets, considering individual preferences & needs.
  • Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet patients’ dietary needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and Food Hygiene Regulations.
  • Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment per Cygnet procedures.
  • Use COSHH-compliant chemicals.
