Job summary

CYGNET Hospital Ealing is recruiting a Bank Chef with experience in catering or hospital kitchens to cover flexible ad hoc shifts across a 7 day rota, including mornings 07:30–15:30. You will prepare, cook and serve balanced meals and support patient nutritional needs within a non-institutional environment.

The role requires a food hygiene certificate, ability to work under pressure, and good communication with nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Experience as Chef/Cook in catering or healthcare settings.
• Food hygiene certificate and high personal hygiene standards.
• Ability to plan nutritious menus within budget.
• Good communication with nursing and other staff.
• Eligible for enhanced DBS check.
• Willing to cover flexible ad hoc shifts.
• City & Guilds 706: 1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2/3 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook & serve nutritional, balanced and appetising meals.
• Provide special diets, taking into account individual preferences & needs.
• Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet patients' nutritional & dietary needs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and Food Hygiene Regulations.
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with procedures.
• Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.
