The Grove is a Shaw Healthcare care home in Swansea seeking a Catering Assistant to join the kitchen team. You’ll support the chef with meal prep, hot dishes, sandwiches and refreshments while upholding high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.

This bank, zero-hour contract covers weekend shifts and a variety of shift times between 07:45 and 18:45. You’ll work as part of a friendly team delivering nutritious, enjoyable meals to residents and visitors.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or kitchen environment preferred.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Ability to work as part of a friendly team.

Working Hours: Bank 0 hour contract - As/When needed in service *including Weekends

About the Role

Working alongside our Chef, you'll help prepare nutritious meals that bring comfort and enjoyment to our residents. You'll also help keep the kitchen running smoothly, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and safety.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assisting with food preparation.
• Preparing hot meals, sandwiches and light refreshments when required.
• Keeping the kitchen clean and hygienic.
• Cleaning food preparation areas and kitchen equipment.
• Clearing tea trolleys where applicable.
• Managing kitchen waste and maintaining a safe working environment.
• Following food hygiene, Health & Safety and company procedures.
• Working as part of a supportive and friendly catering team.
