Job summary

Advinia Healthcare is seeking a Bank Catering Assistant to support meal preparation and service at Hillview Care Home. You will join a calm kitchen environment and work with the catering team to provide daily meals for Residents, Staff and Visitors.

The role offers flexible shifts with training and opportunity to contribute to high standards of hygiene and dietary compliance. Previous catering experience is preferred, with COSHH/HACCP knowledge beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar catering role is preferred.
• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP is desirable.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist catering staff with preparation and cooking of meals.
• Serve residents, staff and visitors.
• Maintain storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensure areas and equipment are cleaned and stored properly.
• Help ensure kitchen hygiene standards meet policies.
• Liaise with the wider team.

As a Bank Catering Assistant you will be:

• Assisting catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Serving Residents, Staff and Visitors with food and beverages.
• Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensuring that all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
• As part of the catering team, ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Liaising with the wider team.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Relevant Catering Qualification (Desirable)
• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP
• Experience of working within similar role.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
