Job summary

Trinity Industrial Corp. is seeking a Bandsaw Operative to join our team on a temporary to permanent basis within a busy engineering environment.

You will be responsible for steel stock control, handling long lengths, and operating the bandsaw to cut materials to specification. The role requires experience with bandsaw operations, the ability to read measurements with verniers, input stock data, and maintain a safe, organised workspace.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a bandsaw in engineering/steel environments.
• Able to handle long lengths (8m–12m) and read measurements accurately.
• Basic computer/data input skills.
• Forklift licence is beneficial but not essential.
• Overhead crane (OHC) licence preferred where possible.
• Strong organisational skills and proactive, safety-conscious approach.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for steel stock in yard/stock area.
• Handle steel lengths ranging from 8 to 12 metres.
• Load and unload lorries safely and efficiently.
• Operate bandsaw machinery to cut materials to specification.
• Shot blast materials as required.
• Use verniers to accurately measure materials.
• Input stock and job information into the system.
• Maintain a safe and organised working environment.
