Job summary

Trinity Industrial Corp. is recruiting a Bandsaw Operative to join our team on a temporary to permanent basis. This hands-on role involves steel stock control, material handling and operating bandsaw machinery within a busy engineering environment.

You will manage long-length steel (8–12 m), input stock data and help ensure safety and organisation on site. Prior bandsaw experience in an engineering or steel setting is preferred; forklift and overhead crane licences are a bonus.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a bandsaw in an engineering or steel environment.
• Confident handling long-length steel materials (8m–12m).
• Ability to read measurements accurately using verniers.
• Basic computer/data input skills.

Responsibilities

• Taking full responsibility for steel stock within the yard and stock area.
• Handling steel lengths ranging from 8 to 12 metres.
• Loading and unloading lorries safely and efficiently.
• Operating bandsaw machinery to cut materials to specification.
• Shot blasting materials as required.
• Using verniers to accurately measure materials.
• Inputting stock and job information into the system.

We are currently recruiting for a Bandsaw Operative to join our team on a temporary to permanent basis. This is a hands-on role requiring responsibility for steel stock control, material handling, and processing within a busy engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Taking full responsibility for steel stock within the yard and stock area
• Handling steel lengths ranging from 8 to 12 metres
• Loading and unloading lorries safely and efficiently
• Operating bandsaw machinery to cut materials to specification
• Shot blasting materials as required
• Using verniers to accurately measure materials
• Inputting stock and job information into the system
• Maintaining a safe and organised working environment

Requirements

• Previous experience operating a bandsaw in an engineering or steel environment
• Confident handling long-length steel materials (8m–12m)
• Ability to use verniers and read measurements accurately
• Basic computer skills for data input
• Forklift licence beneficial but not essential
• Overhead Crane (OHC) licence preferred
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage stock effectively
• Proactive, reliable and safety-conscious
