Job summary

A leading steel processing company in Sheffield seeks an experienced Bandsaw Operator to cut various steels for the oil and gas industries. The ideal candidate will have experience with band saws, work to tight tolerances, and be proficient in using relevant measuring tools. The position is shift-based with a competitive remuneration package.

Qualifications

• Experience working with band saws, cutting Nickel alloy, Stainless & Carbon grade metals.
• Ability to use measuring tools accurately.
• Competence in reading and interpreting working instructions.
• FLT / Crane / Side Loader experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate bandsaws to cut a range of different steels.
• Work to lists and meet deadlines.
• Load & Unload using FLT / Cranes & Side Loaders.

Overview

Special Quality Alloys is a member of the Special Steel Group of Companies and are a market leader in supplying the oil and gas industries with forged and rolled products in nickel based super alloys and special stainless steels. As a result of continued expansion, we are looking for a Bandsaw Operator to join our successful business working on a shift-based system.

Responsibilities

• Operating bandsaws to cut a range of different steels from 30 mm – 800 mm diameter.
• Working to lists and hitting deadlines.
• Loading & Unloading using FLT / Cranes & Side Loaders.

Skills / Qualifications

• Experience of working with band saws, cutting Nickel alloy, Stainless & Carbon grade metals to relatively tight tolerances.
• Understanding of mechanical production equipment.
• Be able to use accurately: tape measure, verniers, engineering square.
• Competence to accurately read and interpret working instructions.
• FLT / Crane / Side Loader experience desirable.
