Job summary
Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital is seeking a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist for Paediatric and Neonatal Services. You will join a supportive clinical pharmacy team and provide clinical pharmacy services to Paediatric and Neonatal areas, focusing on safe, rational and cost-effective medicines use.
The role includes screening neonatal parenteral nutrition, paediatric chemotherapy, acting as deputy to the Lead Pharmacist for Women and Children, and
Qualifications
- Registered Pharmacist with GPhC in the UK
- Postgraduate clinical pharmacy training completed
- Desirable: Non-Medical Prescribing qualification
- Experience in paediatric/neonatal clinical pharmacy preferred
- Strong IT skills (Sunrise EPR/EMIS/ECG systems)
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and on-call rotas
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical services to Paediatrics and Neonates
- Screen prescriptions for safety, efficacy and cost-effectiveness
- Offer specialist advice to consultants and nursing staff
- Educate patients and families about medications
- Participate in MDTs and risk/governance forums
- Assist with neonatal parenteral nutrition and paediatric chemotherapy
- Provide on-call cover and ward rounds as required
- Contribute to formulary and policy development
