Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Specialist Pharmacy Technician (Band 5) to join the Stores & Procurement team at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, Gloucester. The role blends leadership in pharmacy stores with direct patient-facing responsibilities within a large NHS trust.

You will oversee stores, procurement, GDP/WDA compliance and contribute to dispensing, medicines optimisation and discharge planning, working closely with pharmacists and clinical teams

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Medicines optimisation qualification, or willingness to work towards this.
• Experience in a hospital pharmacy dispensary environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pharmacy stores, procurement and distribution activities.
• Ensure GDP and Wholesale Dealer Authorisation (WDA) compliance.
• Contribute to dispensing, medicines optimisation and reconciliation.
• Support patient counselling, discharge planning and collaboration with staff.
