Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is offering a Band 6 Neonatal Nurse role within the busy Local Neonatal Unit in Gloucester. You will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to babies and their families, needing neonatal qualification and post-qualification experience.

Leadership experience is useful, with full training provided and an induction programme. The unit champions Family Integrated Care, with opportunities for Quality Improvement projects and staff development.

Qualifications

• RN with neonatal qualification and relevant post-qualification experience.
• Training and experience in Child Protection.
• Newborn Life Support certification.
• Teaching qualification.
• Evidence of practice development or service improvement.
• Evidence of contribution to policy, protocol or guideline development.
• Leadership experience useful but not essential; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Act as advocate for the neonate.
• Lead the nursing team in the clinical area in the absence of the senior nurse.
• Deliver and supervise patient care with assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Manage caseload of patients and guide junior medical staff.
