Job summary

NCIC is seeking a Band 7 Deputy Service Manager to support Critical Care, Anaesthesia and Theatres across Carlisle or Whitehaven. Based in a busy hospital environment, you will drive improvements, ensure safe care and balance budgets while leading a multidisciplinary team.

You will work across sites, deputise for the Service Manager, and monitor performance against national standards with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Management diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Essential IT skills (EITS) or equivalent.
• Experience managing staff and budgets.
• Knowledge of NHS performance and governance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational management for the Trust and support senior team.
• Oversee service delivery, performance targets and financial balance.
• Deputise for the Service Manager and manage HR issues including recruitment and staff wellbeing.
• Work across multiple sites and shift patterns to meet service needs.
