Job summary

BSMHFT in North Birmingham is seeking a Band 7 Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join the North Birmingham Neighbourhood Mental Health Team, working closely with GP partners. The role focuses on triage, assessment and interventions within primary care mental health pathways, with nurse prescribing within the team.

The post supports the NHS Long Term Plan and involves collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams, with a view to enhancing community mental health care in Birmingham and Solihull.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
• Hold a Nurse Independent Prescribing qualification.
• Experience in Community Mental Health Service.
• Experience of working within primary care and with VCFSE partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide mental health triage, assessment and outcomes‑based intervention.
• Deliver nurse prescribing within the Primary Care Mental Health Team.
• Identify needs and advise on the best course of action or intervention.
• Promote psychosocial wellbeing and support pathways for service users and carers.
• Ensure robust communication across BSMHFT and primary care.
