We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Trauma Team within the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. This ongoing locum role offers a competitive hourly rate of £26.00, with the option to work part time or full time. As a valued member of the Trauma Team, you will play a key role in supporting adults admitted with traumatic injuries, carrying out comprehensive assessments, delivering rehabilitation, and coordinating safe, effective discharge planning alongside the wider MDT.

Deliver evidence-based interventions to support functional recovery and promote safe, timely discharge.
Work closely with Orthopaedics, ED, Surgical Wards, Discharge Teams, and the wider MDT to streamline patient pathways.
Lead complex discharge planning, recommending community services, equipment, and home adaptations.
Apply advanced clinical reasoning to set rehabilitation goals and identify each patient’s potential for recovery.
Conduct manual handling assessments and provide advice aligned with Trust policies.
Undertake cognitive and functional assessments for patients with head injuries or post‑trauma confusion.
Contribute to therapy-led initiatives, early mobilisation programmes, and rehabilitation targets within the trauma pathway.
