Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Bank Specialist Occupational Therapist (Band 6) to rotate across the Therapy teams. You will provide advanced OT assessment and treatment within RFH services, contributing to safe discharge planning and patient-centred care.

The role involves supervising junior staff and students, supporting the Therapy Team Leader in operational tasks, and participating in ongoing professional development within a supportive, inter-disciplinary environment.

Formación

• The successful candidate should be able to provide specialised Occupational Therapy service to RFH patients within the clinical area, applying evidence-based practice.
• They should be able to supervise and guide therapy staff and students, adhering to professional standards.
• They should assist in operational issues in the absence of the Therapy Team Leader.

Responsabilidades

• Completes an advanced functional assessment and treatment of patients preparing for discharge to home or the community.
• Gains valid informed consent and works within the legal framework when patients lack capacity.
• Carry out complex OT assessments of functional ability, cognition and home situation, liaising with senior OT staff for highly complex patients.
• Assists with service development by proposing improvements in their clinical area and identifying service gaps.
• Supports clinical governance and organisational strategies related toClinical Governance issues.
• Assists in induction of new recruits and provides supervision and performance reviews for less experienced staff.
• Assists in training occupational therapy students and oversees practice placement education.
