Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Band 6 MRI Radiographer to join the Radiology team at the Royal Free Hospital. This post would be well suited for an MRI radiographer wishing to develop and expand on their MRI experience.

Education and training are key elements of MRI competence and are prioritized within the department. Full training in MRI will be given, depending upon prior experience.

The ideal candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills, and a team and patient-centered approach to their work. They should enjoy working collaboratively and aspire to always provide the best possible care for our patients, whilst teaching and sharing their knowledge with others.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be working with other Band 6 and 7 MRI specialist Radiographers, MRI Trained Rotational radiographers, and Radiographic Assistants to deliver a 7-day service in the MRI Department at the Royal Free. They will develop specialized knowledge and expertise and produce high quality images to assist in diagnosis and treatment, while demonstrating high standards of care.

The department actively encourages continued professional development (CPD), and opportunities are available for further training and development, in areas such as post graduate study, radiographer reporting and advanced practice.

Experience
  • NHS Experience
  • Clinical MRI experience
  • Experience in a diverse range of radiographic techniques
  • Experience in specialized imaging techniques such as CT, Interventional Radiology/Cardiology
  • Experience using PACS and RIS
  • Experience dealing with a diverse range of patient presentations
  • Experience of performing Quality Assurance tests and management of a robust QA program
Skills and aptitudes
  • Ability to work independently and also within a team
  • Ability to prioritize and organize demands and multi-task.
  • Willing to take direction and learn from more experienced colleagues
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of MRI Safety Principles for patients and staff
