Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Therapy Radiographer to join our Radiotherapy team at The London Clinic, based at our Duchess of Devonshire Wing (W1G 6JA). We are offering a competitive inclusive salary range of £44,252 - £54,077 per annum.

Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest private hospitals, with 8 state-of-the-art facilities located in the heart of London's medical community around Harley Street. We have circa 1350 employees, and we are dedicated to providing our patients with expert, individualised treatment and care. The Duchess of Devonshire Wing is The London Clinic's dedicated award-winning cancer centre, which includes state-of-the-art radiotherapy, and chemotherapy suites as well as 47 dedicated patient bedrooms for Oncology & Haematology patients. The London Clinic radiotherapy department uses the world's most up-to-date technology to provide the most advanced treatments possible for our patients. The radiotherapy equipment includes three linear accelerators (Linacs), the CyberKnife robotic radiosurgery system, and two Varian Linacs.

Job Profile:

The Therapy Radiographer will support radiotherapy patients through the clinical and technical delivery of all radiotherapy tasks from referral to follow-up, with a specific focus on treatment planning. The post holder will bridge the gap between planning and treatment by supporting treatment delivery, underpinned by radiotherapy planning knowledge and expertise. The post holder will ensure the highest standards of treatment and care at all times.

Key Duties:

  • Implement safe and accurate high-energy radiotherapy treatment to cancer patients, adhering to radiotherapy protocols and procedures.
  • Provide a continuum of care, requiring complex technical skills in localisation, planning and dosimetry, verification, and management of treatment processes.
  • Conduct quality assurance and control tasks to ensure high-quality patient treatments and care.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide a high-quality radiotherapy service.

Skills & Experience:

  • Broad post-qualification clinical experience in all aspects of radiotherapy.
  • Practical experience with a wide range of radiotherapy equipment, techniques, and practice, including IMRT and IGRT.
  • In-depth knowledge of radiotherapy treatment modalities, options, and techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of radiotherapy side effects and associated treatments.
  • Effective communication skills with consultants, peers, staff, and trainees.
  • Mature outlook and ability to work under pressure to strict timescales and deadlines.
