Barnsley Hospital is seeking a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to lead the Medical Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit for a fixed-term/secondment of six months. The post focuses on safe, high-quality, patient-centred care, coordinating assessments, investigations and treatments while promoting timely clinical decisions.

Qualifications

• Post-registration education and development evidence is required.
• Experience leading nursing teams and managing clinical governance or service improvement.
• Willingness to work towards Non Medical Prescribing (NMP) if not already completed.

Responsabilités

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day running of the Medical SDEC unit to ensure safe, effective, patient-centred care.
• Coordinate investigations and treatment and facilitate timely discharge or escalation to inpatient care.
• Supervise and develop the nursing team, oversee staffing and patient flow, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.
