BAND 6 CARDIAC SPECIALIST NURSE - Full-time Post

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our established Cardiac Support Team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital as a Band 6 cardiac nurse.

This permanent position offers an excellent chance for cardiology nurses to develop specialist skills and gain insight into the workings of a specialty team and Clinical Nurse Specialist role. Full training and support will be provided to the successful candidate.

Cardiac Support comprises a small team of Cardiology Nurse Specialists, Heart Function Specialist Nurses, a Cardiac Rehabilitation Team, and a Cardiac Support Administrator.

We are an integral part of the Cardiology multidisciplinary service, providing follow-up care for patients with complex cardiology needs across a wide spectrum of conditions.

Main duties of the job

We seek an enthusiastic candidate eager to develop expertise in cardiovascular medicine and committed to delivering a gold-standard cardiac rehabilitation service.

You will work closely with current cardiac specialist nurses, assisting in managing patients referred for cardiac rehabilitation through referral, assessment, program delivery, and discharge. You will report to a named Cardiology Specialist Nurse and Lead Nurse and collaborate with colleagues in Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust.

If successful, you must hold the qualification from the British Association of Cardio Pulmonary Rehabilitation "Physical Activity and Exercise in the Management of Cardiovascular Disease" Parts I. Please discuss your application and these dates with your line manager beforehand to ensure support.
