Job description

We are recruiting for a Band 6 Cardiology SDEC Specialist Nurse.

The post holder will work to develop improved diagnostic, referral, and treatment pathways for ACS patients across the care continuum from primary to tertiary care, engaging with healthcare professionals across the network area.

The post holder will ensure that the service offered is convenient and accessible to patients. They will assist in ensuring that patients receive timely and streamlined care, contribute to reducing waiting times, waiting lists for treatment, and inappropriate admissions to acute beds.

Main duties of the job
  1. Provide clinical leadership for a defined group of patients.
  2. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate safe and high-quality patient care.
  3. Manage target patient groups, including those with or at risk of cardiology health conditions.
  4. Coordinate care for patients requiring electrophysiology/ablation procedures, implantable loop recorders, planned cardioversion, tilt tests, coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty, CABG, and valve surgery.
