Job summary

Walsall Manor Hospital, part of Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician (Band 5 enhanced) to join the medicines management team. The role is a full-time, 37.5-hour position on a fixed-term 18-month contract, with additional responsibilities in ward-based dispensing and stock management.

Applicants should hold a BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science and be registered with the GPHC.

Qualifications

• BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent qualification.
• Registered as a practising pharmacy technician with the GPHC (current) is required.
• Experience with medicines management and ward-based dispensing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be first line for prescription referral and investigate supply difficulties.
• Assist staff with difficult patients and complex technical issues.
• Supervise dispensary and ward workload and support training of students.
