Job summary

WWL is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our ward-based pharmacy team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will work on wards, support medicines optimisation, and provide clinical services under supervision to ensure safe, effective patient care.

The role requires a registered GPhC Pharmacy Technician, with BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in pharmacy services or equivalent, plus strong accuracy and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC membership.
BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in pharmacy services or equivalent required.
Hospital/pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Support ward-based medicines optimisation and interventions.
Accurately dispense and check prescriptions on wards.
Counsel patients on medications and ensure safe use.
Assist with discharge planning and medicine supply to wards.
