Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team based at Central and Summerhill Pharmacies in Erdington. You will be involved in the progression of the Technician-led Dispensary and in developing the role of Pharmacy Technicians in delivering medicines optimisation services for inpatient and community areas. We offer training and support to complete the ACPT course and the Medicines Optimisation course if not already completed. These qualifications will help prepare the successful candidate for progression to a senior pharmacy technician role, should one arise. We will also provide in-house training to develop leadership skills within dispensary and ward services.

Pharmacy Technicians are vital members of today’s healthcare team, making significant contributions to the supply of medicines to patients and medicines management across healthcare organizations. The role is becoming more varied and complex as medicines become increasingly sophisticated. The role involves supporting both inpatient and outpatient dispensaries and requires candidates to be qualified ACPT, in the process of completing the ACPT qualification, or willing to work towards it.

4. Ward duties, including providing support to Senior Pharmacy Technicians with medicines reconciliation, POD assessments, managing patient supply needs, discharges, and transfer of care
