As a Bereavement Care Administrative Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting families following the death of a loved one. You will provide compassionate guidance on the Medical Examiner process, registration of death, funeral arrangements and available bereavement support services, ensuring families receive timely and accurate information.
You will undertake a range of bereavement-related administrative duties, maintaining accurate records and ensuring processes are completed in line with Trust policies and legal requirements. Working closely with Clinical Nurse Specialists, Medical Examiner teams, mortuary services, funeral directors and external agencies, you will help deliver a coordinated and compassionate service.

The successful candidate will be confident using IT systems, able to prioritise competing demands and remain professional when dealing with sensitive and emotionally challenging situations.

As a Bereavement Care Administrative Assistant, you will support families following the death of a loved one. Acting as the first point of contact via telephone, you will provide sensitive and compassionate information regarding the Medical Examiner process, registration of death, funeral arrangements, Coroners' procedures and bereavement support services.
You will obtain, record and input information to support death certification and bereavement processes, ensuring documentation is accurate and completed in line with Trust policies and confidentiality standards. You will undertake follow-up contact with families where required, provide practical guidance and signpost to support services.
Working closely with Clinical Nurse Specialists, Medical Examiner teams, Mortuary Services, ward teams, funeral directors, Coroners' Officers and external agencies, you will help coordinate a timely and compassionate service. You will support the day-to-day running of the Bereavement Hub by managing enquiries, maintaining records, preparing bereavement information packs, assisting with stock control, and collecting and inputting data for surveys, audits and service reports.
