Job summary

Mitie is hiring a Handyman at Balderstone, Blackburn to deliver facilities maintenance across our site. You’ll handle general minor maintenance, first-response repairs, and small fabric/plumbing tasks, while working independently within a supportive team.

Applicants should have a UK driving licence, relevant building trades qualification, and strong customer-focused communication. This full-time role offers development and a stable FM environment.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Background in facilities maintenance within a similar environment.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general minor maintenance tasks across the site.
• Act as the first responder for maintenance issues, ensuring assets are made safe and isolated where required.
• Complete minor building repairs including door handles, door closers, window handles, blind repairs, wall repairs, floor repairs and trip hazard repairs.
• Undertake minor fabric maintenance works to support the efficient operation of the facility.
• Carry out minor plumbing tasks including toilet seat replacements, flush repairs, tap revivers and trap cleaning.
