Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services in Balderstone, Blackburn is seeking a Handyman to deliver facilities services across commercial environments. You will support the Balderstone site, perform minor maintenance, repairs, and plumbing tasks, and act as a first responder to maintenance issues.

The role requires a current UK driving licence and the ability to work independently within a team, with a focus on safe, high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

• Full, current UK driving licence.
• Background in facilities maintenance within a similar environment.
• Qualified in one of the building trades.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general minor maintenance tasks across the site.
• Act as the first responder for maintenance issues, ensuring assets are made safe and isolated where required.
• Complete minor building repairs including door handles, door closers, window handles, blind repairs, wall repairs, floor repairs and trip hazard repairs.
• Undertake minor fabric maintenance works to support the efficient operation of the facility.
• Carry out minor plumbing tasks including toilet seat replacements, flush repairs, tap revivers and trap cleaning.
