Job summary

Ryvita in Poole is seeking a Production Team Leader to support the Shift Manager in Bakery 1, guiding a multi-skilled team to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality production. The role covers leading day-to-day activities, ensuring health and safety, food safety, quality and environmental standards, and deputising for the Shift Manager when required. It is a permanent, full-time post, 39 hours weekly with a 3-shift rotation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience leading or supervising teams within a manufacturing, production, or operational environment.
• Strong people management and communication skills.
• Demonstrable commitment to health and safety standards.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety management systems.
• Experience within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of multi-skilled operatives to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, food safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Supervise day-to-day production activities to achieve operational targets and minimise downtime, waste, and inefficiencies.
• Monitor production performance and accurately record shift data and operational metrics.
• Coordinate equipment cleaning, maintenance, and operational readiness.
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with key support functions, including Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, Mill, and Hygiene teams.
• Ensure the effective control of raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods within the bakery.
• Support continuous improvement activities that enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and team performance.
• Coach, develop, and engage team members to build capability and encourage a positive working environment.
