Job summary

Plumpton College, in partnership with One Garden Brighton, invites applications for an Apprentice Baker. This Level 2 Bakery Apprenticeship lasts 18 months and combines on‑the‑job training with weekly formal instruction to develop professional baking skills.

The apprentice will learn to bake in a commercial kitchen, work safely with equipment, and support the bakery team. Training is split 50/50 between Plumpton College and One Garden Brighton, with 1 day on campus and 4 days in the kitchen

Qualifications

• Experience in baking or keen interest to learn professional bakery.
• Desire to deliver great customer service in a busy kitchen.
• Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in baking and recipe development for One Kitchen.
• Work under head baker and maintain food safety and hygiene standards.
• Learn equipment operation and kitchen processes during apprenticeship.
• Attend weekly training as part of the Level 2 Bakery Apprenticeship.
