Job summary

Protea Recruitment Ltd is representing a client in a chilled environment, seeking a Backshift Production Manager to lead the backshift team, ensure production targets are met, and uphold high standards of quality and safety.

You will oversee daily production, maintain food safety, ensure accurate labelling and compliance, and drive improvements in yield and efficiency while developing the team through coaching and training.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification or equivalent.
• HACCP certification required.
• Strong numeracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production, setting clear expectations and keeping the team focused on production and service targets.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, health and safety, product quality and traceability standards.
• Ensure products meet customer specifications, with accurate labelling and consistent process compliance.
• Monitor performance and improve yield, labour efficiency, waste and product giveaway.
• Organise staffing, team rotation, holidays and absence cover.
• Develop your team through training and performance management, ensuring systems are used correctly and issues are escalated promptly.
