Job summary

Computer Futures is seeking engineers for a 6-month backend contract in Manchester. The role involves designing, developing and maintaining backend services and APIs, building insurance offers and configuration capabilities, and integrating with internal platforms.

You will own services through the full development lifecycle, improve scalability and performance, monitor production systems with SLIs/SLOs, and collaborate with product teams and stakeholders. On-site work 2 days per week.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial backend software engineering experience.
• Experience building scalable, high-volume distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of cloud-based development environments.
• Ability to work independently and contribute within a collaborative team.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working in modern product engineering organisations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs.
