Job summary

Accenture UK is seeking a Principal Software Engineer in Manchester. You will lead engineering teams, design scalable backend services, and drive delivery across client engagements across the UK, with ad hoc travel to client sites.

Working on cloud-native architectures with AWS/Azure, you’ll mentor engineers, shape technical strategy, and collaborate across disciplines in a fast-paced, global technology environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams and growing careers of team members.
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders expecting results.
• Extensive backend services experience across integration paradigms (synchronous API, message-driven, event-driven).
• Fluency in Java, C#, Python, TypeScript or React.
• Recent experience building, deploying and running cloud-native apps on AWS and/or Azure.
• Knowledge of strategies for building/delivering products/services using AI (Agentic AI) with professional certification optional.
• Experience in DevOps environments with industry-standard practices.
• Experience producing repeatable, automated tests for own work.
• Ability to work with others in an egoless way and mentor teammates.
• Flexibility to adapt tech stacks to deliver best client outcomes.
