Better Placed is hiring a backend‑leaning Full Stack Engineer to join its in‑house tech team in Manchester. You’ll work on integrations, data flows and the operational engine behind a fast‑growing ecommerce business.

The role focuses on designing and building scalable backend services, APIs and serverless components, while supporting front‑end changes when needed in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in backend or full‑stack role.
• Strong Node.js experience in production.
• Ability to design and build APIs and integrate systems.
• Experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda).
• Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, BigQuery.
• Familiar with CI/CD and Git workflows.
• Experience building system integrations and data pipelines.
• Hands-on, fast-moving with commercial mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable backend services and integrations.
• Develop APIs and services to support data flow between tools.
• Own integrations from planning to deployment and maintenance.
• Contribute to backend architecture focusing on reliability and performance.
• Build serverless functions and automation opportunities.
• Support data pipelines, reporting and analytics workflows.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable systems.
• Support front-end/platform changes when required.
