Job summary

VirtueTech Recruitment Group is seeking a Backend Engineer focused on Python and Django to design and build real-time platforms for specialised financial markets. You will own features from concept to production, solving complex distributed systems challenges.

Core tech stack includes Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, REST APIs, Docker, and CI/CD. You will design scalable APIs, optimise data layers, deploy containerised services, and uphold high test coverage and robust CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Production-grade asynchronous Python experience.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, data modeling, and RESTful API design patterns.
• Familiarity with containerised workflows using Kubernetes and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable APIs and high-performance microservices leveraging the Python and Django ecosystem.
• Optimise data layers and query performance within PostgreSQL relational databases.
• Deploy, scale, and maintain distributed backend systems containerised via Docker and orchestrated within Kubernetes environments.
• Implement modern engineering practices, ensuring high test coverage, robust version control, and seamless continuous integration (CI/CD pipelines).
