Job summary

Blockchain in London is hiring a Back-End Engineer to build and operate backend services powering our cryptocurrency trading platform. You will work on order management, market data processing, and real-time client APIs, collaborating closely with product, frontend, and trading teams.

Applicants should have Kotlin or Python backend experience, proficiency with REST APIs and WebSockets, and knowledge of SQL, Docker/Kubernetes, and AWS.

Qualifications

• Backend experience in Kotlin or Python.
• Experience designing REST APIs and real-time streaming.
• Strong SQL skills and microservice familiarity.
• Understanding of performance bottlenecks and low-latency systems.
• Good communication with technical/non-technical colleagues.
• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services powering trading products (order mgmt, market data processing).
• Develop REST APIs and WebSocket streams for real-time data and client access.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and trading teams to adapt platform features.
• Ensure high availability, low latency, and scalable trading services.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and maintainable code.
