Job summary

VirtueTech Recruitment Group partners with a leading global energy trading business to hire a Senior Backend Developer who will build and own data platforms at the heart of a data-driven operation.

You will take ownership of features from concept to production, solving complex distributed systems and high-volume data engineering problems at scale, with a Core Tech Stack including C# / .NET, SQL Server, Kafka, Docker, and Azure services.

Qualifications

• Senior engineering with expert C# / .NET experience and data-intensive systems.
• Strong knowledge of event-driven architecture, data modelling and distributed design.
• Experience with high-volume ingestion and real-time data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable APIs and data services for real-time market data streams.
• Optimise data layers for low-latency queries across SQL/NoSQL stores.
• Deploy, scale, and maintain containerised services in Kubernetes.
• Mentor developers and influence platform architecture.
• Implement CI/CD, observability, logging, and testing practices.
