Job summary

Harrington Starr is seeking a Python Backend Engineer to join a small, highly collaborative team in the UK fintech space. You will design, build and maintain scalable backend applications, contribute to product features from concept through to production, and shape technical solutions in partnership with Product and stakeholders.

The role emphasizes ownership of architecture, performance improvements, and working across the full software lifecycle in a fast-paced product environment.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing applications in Python.
• Experience building scalable backend applications and APIs.
• Experience working on SaaS or product-focused platforms.
• Strong SQL and relational database knowledge.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• A collaborative approach and a passion for writing clean, maintainable code.
• Experience working within Agile engineering teams.

We're working with an innovative fintech company that develops software used by investment management firms to automate complex reporting, document generation and client communications.

Their platform is used by leading financial institutions and they're investing heavily in the next generation of their product suite.

As part of a small, highly collaborative engineering team, you'll have genuine influence over architecture, technical direction and product development. This is an opportunity to work on greenfield features as well as enhance an established platform, taking ownership from design through to production.
