ARQ is seeking a Backend Engineer to design and maintain scalable, secure backend systems powering our fintech products. You will collaborate with a talented team to deliver high-impact solutions for global financial inclusion.

The role focuses on greenfield work, building REST APIs and microservices, with Java and Postgres at the core, and Spring Boot to ensure fast, quality delivery in a hypergrowth environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in backend development with fluency in Java.
• Bachelor's Degree (or above) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
• Excellent communication skills and English fluency (verbal and written).
• Track record of building complex products used in hypergrowth startups.

Responsibilities

• Greenfield development and improvement of existing systems.
• Build REST APIs, engineer microservices, and evolve critical systems (e.g., card payments, treasury management, transactions booking, crypto liquidity).
• Backend stack centers on Java with Postgres; Spring Boot used for rapid, quality delivery.
• Emphasizes clean code, maintainability, and fast turnaround with TDD, DDD, and CI/CD.
