Job summary

ARQ is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems powering its fintech products. You will join a team building REST APIs and microservices in a Java-based stack, with PostgreSQL, Spring Boot, and CI/CD emphasis.

You will contribute to greenfield work and modernize existing systems, collaborating across functions to deliver high-performance solutions that scale with a hypergrowth environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (or above) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other Engineering / Science disciplines.
• Quick learner with an ambitious and results driven personality, with excellent communication skills (english fluency, verbal and written).
• Track record of building complex products that millions of people use in hypergrowth startups.

Responsibilities

• Greenfield development and improvement of existing systems.
• Build REST APIs, engineering microservices and evolving systems such as payments, treasury, transactions and crypto liquidity.
• Work with Java and PostgreSQL, using Spring Boot and CI/CD practices.
