Job summary

Methods is seeking skilled Backend Developers to design, build and maintain backend services and APIs using TypeScript in a serverless, cloud-native environment. You’ll work in a multidisciplinary team on high‑impact public sector projects, using AWS Lambda and other AWS services to deliver scalable, secure digital services.

You’ll contribute to CI/CD, testing and architecture discussions, ensuring robust and maintainable software while collaborating with designers, product managers and QA

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience building backend services and APIs.
• Expertise in TypeScript and serverless architectures.
• Hands-on AWS cloud services experience including Lambda.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and external/internal service integration.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code and perform reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs in TypeScript.
• Apply serverless and cloud-native development principles with AWS.
• Build secure, scalable APIs and maintainable backend systems.
• Collaborate with frontend, product and QA in an agile team.
• Contribute to CI/CD, automated tests, and code reviews.
• Investigate issues, optimize performance and resolve incidents.
• Ensure security, accessibility, privacy, resilience and reliability.
