Job summary

The Back-End Engineer will design and maintain high-performance server-side applications and APIs for data-intensive environments, collaborating with architects, traders, and quants to ensure reliability and scalability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and supporting enterprise level latency-sensitive systems.
• Experience with front-office trading applications is preferred.
• Background in designing and maintaining distributed, event-driven, cloud-native applications.
• Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals.
• SDLC experience across design, development, QA, deployment and production support.
• Ability to balance rapid delivery with architectural rigour and long-term maintainability.
• Relational database design and optimization skills (MSSQL, MySQL).
• Experience building automated testing frameworks for complex distributed systems.
• Ability to engage effectively with traders, quants, and other business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Work with Architects and Engineers to design, build, test and deliver high-performance systems end-to-end.
• Contribute to engineering deliverables across full lifecycle with performance and resilience in mind.
• Drive innovation through POCs and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate progress, risks, and remove delivery impediments.
