Job summary

A&O Shearman is seeking an experienced SQL database professional to manage and optimise MS-SQL databases across Azure, AVS and on‑premises. You will ensure availability, performance and security of critical business data used by finance, CRM and legal tech systems.

The role requires hands-on scripting in SQL and PowerShell, working with DevOps practices, and collaboration with global IT teams. Microsoft Azure and Linux experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Azure Server and SQL infrastructure.
• AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals and DP-900 Azure Data Fundamentals preferred.
• Experience with SQL AG, clustering and high availability features.
• SQL and PowerShell scripting experience.
• Experience with SQL performance tuning and replication tuning.
• Understanding of Linux server management.

Responsibilities

• Support key databases for applications across finance, CRM, business intake and time capture.
• Support other business-critical applications including file transfer and legal tech.
• Collaborate with third parties providing expertise in these systems.
• Maintain MS-SQL database infrastructure in Azure, AVS and on-premises.
• Support Dynamics365 platform and related applications.
• Package, configure, test and deploy applications to the firm.
