Job summary

A cloud-first insurance challenger in the UK seeks an experienced SQL DBA to manage their Azure and database estate. Responsibilities include troubleshooting data-related issues, performance tuning, and managing SQL Server Databases. Ideal candidates will have proficiency in SQL Server and Azure technologies, experience in the UK Financial Services Industry, and possess Azure certifications. Qualifications

• Experience with Azure data protection features and application architecture.
• Experience of working in the UK Financial Services Industry.
• Ability to co-ordinate triage and resolution of complex production issues.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot data-related issues, ensuring smooth business operations.
• Perform performance tuning and implement database backups.
• Manage SQL Server Databases and develop databases for MI reporting.
• Create scripts for system integration and monitoring.
• Deploy and manage virtual machines in highly available settings.

Skills

Proficiency in SQL Server

Microsoft Azure cloud technologies

Windows and Linux operating system administration

Microsoft DevOps

PowerShell scripting

Understanding of IP subnetting and Network Security Groups

Knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies

Familiarity with JIRA/Confluence
