Job summary

iO Associates is seeking a cloud-first SQL Server DBA with strong Azure production experience. You will deploy, operate, secure and improve development and production database environments in a modern Cloud Platform team.

The role focuses on migrating workloads to Azure, automating provisioning, tuning performance, ensuring backups and DR, and advancing CI/CD for database changes. Candidates must have at least five years' SQL Server experience and hands-on Azure expertise.

Qualifications

At least five years of SQL Server database administration experience.
Hands-on Azure production experience with Azure SQL Database or Managed Instance.
Proficient in scripting with PowerShell or Python for automation.
Experience implementing CI/CD for database changes and deployments.
Strong understanding of security, backups, DR and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

Manage and optimize production database services within Azure.
Support migration of workloads to Azure and modernisation of estates.
Monitor performance and resolve issues related to queries, indexing and I/O.
Design and maintain backup, restore, HA and disaster-recovery processes.
Implement database security, access controls and vulnerability management.
Automate provisioning, configuration and routine operational tasks; improve CI/CD.
