Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Principal Software Engineer (Azure and Integration) to lead the Field Platform team in a UK-based hybrid role. You will provide architectural vision, engineering standards and technical leadership to evolve a secure, scalable Azure-based ecosystem across multiple product suites.

You will partner with Product and Engineering to drive strategy, deliver high-impact outcomes, and mentor engineers while shaping engineering practices and governance across

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, including compute, networking, storage, integration services, platform security and cost optimisation.
• Extensive knowledge of integration and API design patterns including REST, event-driven architectures, messaging and microservices.
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering principles and architecture patterns with sufficient .NET guidance.
• Experience with data architecture, SQL and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead through influence and technical excellence across squads, establishing engineering standards and best practices.
• Coach, mentor and support engineers, helping teams grow their technical capabilities.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to shape product strategy and deliver business value.
• Define and drive technical strategy, architecture, and governance for large-scale platforms.
• Support incidents and post-incident reviews to improve systems and practices.
• Stay abreast of industry trends to leverage opportunities across the organisation.
