Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to shape the technical direction of customer-facing platforms in a highly regulated environment. You will lead design across cloud-native architectures, microservices, and AI-augmented practices, mentoring engineers and guiding standards.

This hybrid role involves collaboration with product, delivery, operations, and commercial teams, with travel to UK offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software engineering at senior/Principal level.
• Strong knowledge of .NET, React, SQL and microservices.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Proven ability with CI/CD, IaC, DevSecOps and test automation.
• Experience with AWS Connect or Genesys Cloud for customer contact platforms.
• Ability to design secure, scalable cloud-native solutions in complex environments.
• Good observability, reliability engineering, and end-to-end ownership practices.
• Familiarity with UK GDPR and FCA Consumer Duty requirements.

Responsibilities

• Guide architecture and development of scalable customer platforms using microservices on AWS & Azure.
• Set technical direction and engineering standards across teams.
• Mentor Software Development Engineers and Forward Deployed Engineers.
• Support DevSecOps with CI/CD pipelines and IaC practices.
• Own critical customer systems ensuring resilience and performance.
• Collaborate with Product, Delivery, Operations, and Commercial teams.
• Uphold secure-by-design and privacy-by-design approaches aligned with FCA requirements.
• Drive AI-enabled workflows and smart engagement capabilities.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
