Job summary

AVEVA in Cambridge, UK, is seeking a Principal Cloud Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of AVEVA CONNECT Core Services on Microsoft Azure. You will steer architecture, guide engineering directions, and mentor teams, while hands-on contributing to secure, scalable cloud platform solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and delivering complex enterprise or cloud platform solutions.
• Technical leadership experience, including guiding teams, shaping architecture, or influencing engineering direction.
• Strong design and coding skills, with a reputation for delivering high-quality technical outcomes.
• Experience developing microservice or service-oriented architectures and REST APIs.
• Experience with C#/.NET or multiple programming languages, plus a strong understanding of database design, CI/CD, and IaC.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and implementation of secure, resilient cloud platform capabilities for AVEVA CONNECT Core Services.
• Guide architecture and engineering decisions across microservices, REST APIs, data design, CI/CD, and IaC.
• Provide technical leadership to development teams, supporting complex problem-solving, design reviews, and delivery quality.
• Promote cloud technologies, modern engineering practices, and AI-assisted development tools across AVEVA.
• Collaborate with Directors, architects, product teams, and engineering stakeholders to align technical direction with platform and business priorities.
