Job summary

IBM Consulting UK FutureNow seeks an experienced AWS Solutions Architect to design secure, scalable cloud architectures for the UK public sector and defence workloads. You will translate complex requirements into robust AWS solutions, aligning with UK government security standards, MOD requirements and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Candidates must hold UK SC Security Clearance and meet BPSS/National Security Vetting; Bachelor's Degree is preferred, with hands-on Terraform, CloudFormation,

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing secure, scalable AWS cloud architectures for government/defence workloads.
• Strong knowledge of core AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS).
• Experience with cloud security, encryption, access controls, and secure-by-design principles.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable AWS cloud architectures for UK public sector and defence environments.
• Translate complex business and technical requirements into robust AWS solutions.
• Collaborate with security specialists and client stakeholders to meet security standards (UK SC, BPSS/NVS).
• Support migration and modernisation initiatives following AWS Well-Architected Framework.
