Job summary

Veeqo, a Swansea-based ecommerce platform recently acquired by Amazon, is looking for a DevOps Engineer to strengthen the resiliency and security of our production and staging systems. You’ll help build tooling and infrastructure that enable several product teams to move fast while keeping operational standards high.

You will own the infrastructure across AWS (EKS, S3, etc.), drive cost optimisation, contribute to CI/CD pipelines and on-call incident response, and collaborate with five

Qualifications

• Non-internship experience in professional software development.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
• Experience programming in at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust.
• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate the infrastructure underpinning Veeqo's e-commerce platform across production, staging and pre-production AWS environments (EKS, Aurora, ElastiCache/Valkey, SQS, Amazon MQ, S3)
• Drive security and compliance delivery: ASR certification, Shepherd risk remediation, environment separation, CVE response and patching
• Execute infrastructure cost optimisation against S-team goals (DRAM reduction, right-sizing, VPA adoption)
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/VQJenkins migration, deployment automation, Terraform)
• Participate in on-call rotation (primary and secondary) for production incident response, triage and resolution
• Deliver infrastructure changes via MCMs (Managed Change Management) with full rollback planning and operational rigour
• Contribute to platform reliability: multi-AZ resilience, monitoring (Prometheus/CloudWatch), alerting and observability
• Support cross-team engineering through tooling, automation and developer experience improvements
• Collaborate with 5 product engineering teams (2PTs) who depend on shared infrastructure
