Job summary

American It Systems in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Technology Lead to drive a strategic Java modernization program on AWS. You will define target architectures, lead engineering teams, and own delivery across discovery, design, build, migration and production transition.

You will combine architecture leadership with hands-on engineering, database strategy and DevOps to deliver scalable, secure cloud-native solutions for enterprise workloads.

Qualifications

• Hands-on coding and code reviews in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, REST APIs, Python and TypeScript.
• Experience leading architecture governance and delivery leadership within Agile teams.
• Strong background in designing cloud-native Java modernization on AWS.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end modernization of enterprise Java applications on AWS.
• Define modernization roadmap, target architecture and engineering guardrails.
• Drive API-first design, domain-driven design, serverless adoption and microservices decomposition.
• Own technical decisions, architecture reviews, and non-functional requirements.
• Mentor architects, developers and DevOps across workstreams.
