Job summary

Pacific Life seeks an AVP of Privacy Risk & Governance to lead the Global Privacy Program, ensuring governance across privacy, data protection, AI governance, and information management. Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in privacy, compliance, legal, risk management, or a related field.
• 10+ years of people leadership experience.
• Certifications in privacy, data governance, cybersecurity, or AI governance (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, AIGP) are preferred.
• Experience supporting privacy programs in regulated industries such as life insurance/financial services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Pacific Life's Global Privacy Program across privacy, data protection, AI governance, and records management.
• Provide strategic direction and governance as part of the Enterprise Compliance Senior Leadership Team within the Legal and Compliance Division.
• Monitor global regulatory developments and translate into actionable compliance initiatives.
• Direct privacy risk assessments and mitigate risks across the organization.
• Collaborate with Senior Privacy Counsel to oversee privacy incidents and serve as escalation point.
• Partner with Risk Management, Information Security, Third-Party Risk Management, and business leaders to strengthen privacy and AI governance capabilities.
• Identify emerging risks and implement repeatable processes to improve program effectiveness.
